Présentation de la Conférence
des Grandes Ecoles

 

 

The « Conférence des Grandes Ecoles » is a non-profit association founded in 1973. It gathers 226 members, 181 of which are directors of French "Grandes Ecoles", 9 are foreign universities, 36 are institutions and organisations in higher education

Its role, as defined in the status, is:

• to develop information and solidarity between its members ;
• to promote the « Grandes Ecoles »  system both on a national and international scale ;
• to encourage innovations in engineering and management education, to develop continuing education and research activities ;
• to act as a voice with government policy-makers and the research community.

Since June 11, 2003, the President has been Mr Christian MARGARIA, Director general of INT. He is assisted by a "bureau" of 8 to 12 members who are elected by  the Board of Directors.

The institutions applying to membership must meet specific requirements.

Most activities of the « Conférence » are decided within the commissions and the working groups : they have flexible structures, allowing the directors, their close collaborators and faculty members to work together (see organization chart)
